Greetings to our friends and family,
This year we've decided to start something new. We love to receive updates from everyone about how their year has gone, and we want to share about our year as well, as the years change so does technology, and we've decided to go virtual! So here is our Blog! You can find out the latest news periodically from us at this web address. We will update it several times a year for special occasions and holidays.
Pretend you've just received a card from us. Here is the cover of our Holiday Greeting it is a photo we took from our front door one snowy night.

Jason is still working for The City of Omaha as a Firefighter, he will be coming up on 2 years with the OFD after having spent 8 years on the Elkhorn Fire Department, before they were annexed into Omaha. He moves around sometimes spending a week at one station, and at other times 4 stations per day, he moves around as needed. So if you are planning a visit to see him, you may want to call before arrival to assure a successful visit. Jason is also Teaching for the University of Nebraska Medical Center, The Center for Biopreparedness, South East Community College, Teaches First Responder Classes, and fills in at the Ord Hospital about once a month.
Jason also keeps busy as an Assistant Fire Chief of the Ashland Fire Department, as a member of Ashland Rescue, getting contacts via amature radio where his call is kc0bhj. He my official Super Husband, Neighbor and Friend, he is active in our neighborhood helping out.
For myself, I have been busy as well, I am continuing to work at recovering from a career ending auto accident in August of 2004. I am slowed down for sure but don't let that stop me, I cram as much as possible into the days that I feel good, and even as much as I can when I don't. I still have my Mary Kay product sales business, and service clients whenever I can. I even am able to do a facial or two! I have gotten lots better at cooking thanks to PBS cooking shows, 4+ years of continual training from bed has really helped me turn my Hamburger Helper skills into actual recipies and "Dump Cooking". I have become skilled at dumping whatever is in our house toghether to make great food! I am enjoying it and it has given Jason some relief in the kitchen!
A gift came to me this year in the form of a Service Dog for me to use. He lives with us and is becoming part of our family, and my regular daily life. His name is Luka, he helps detect migraines, keep me on my feet, and give extra stabalization to my decent down stairs amongst other things. I am able to get out more on my own with more confidence and stability. Which gives Jason a small break, especially when I want to go shop and he is drug around stores that he has no intrest in being in. Luka is a 100 pound Blue Doberman, he is a gentle giant. If you haven't been up to date on what happened with us regarding life after this auto accident, you are invited to my story at www.pinkdoberman.blogspot.com , go to the earliest entry to find out what happened.
Want to know more about Service Dogs and what they can do? Google Service Dogs. This will answer lots of your questions.
We travel to Ord, NE. regularly for Jason to work as well as for us to hang with some great friends, we make it to Central Nebraska occasionally, and squeeze in day trips when ever we are able. We've been busy working on our home, which we keep tweeking to keep things working.
We've added a new girl to the mix of our crazy family. She's been a part of our lives for sometime now coming over since she was about 7 years old, and for now she is living with us, we are glad to be here and be her safety net. Natalie is a Senior in High School and she is doing well.
Here is our current family picture.

Our other girls have been doing well also, Debora Lima finished college and is now a teacher and a Mary Kay Consultant in Brasil she is a mom to Rafaela making us Grandparents, her sister Fernanda Lima is in Law School in Brasil, and has also been teaching English and has her own Mary Kay Business as well. While we definately don't see the girls or talk to them as often as we would like, we sure miss them and love getting updates about their lives. They are each creating their futures, we love to hear about all of their excitement!
